The Event: Work Life Balance

At Mums in Leadership, we believe that being a mum shouldn't hold you back from achieving your career goals.

This month we'll be joined by Karen Perkins, Life coach and Career Coach, with the theme of Work Life Balance. Karen will share her own experiences of being a working mum and things she sees on a regular basis with clients. She'll offer some tips on what can be done to make sure that you can are managing your work life balance effectively. She will look at ideas for navigating work life balance, with all the challenges of kids/no kids, adoption, caring etc. You are encouraged to bring your pinch points and dilemmas so we can share our solutions!

Managing being a mum and working in leadership positions or running your own business is challenging, demanding and can often leave us feeling guilty of not giving our everything to either our work or our family. It's a common feeling felt by so many working mothers and can regularly lead to burnout if you don't find a balance that cna benefit your personal and professional life. This session will offer a space to explore this theme further and give you the opportunity to learn from Karen as well as others in the room.

Don't miss out on this chance to network in a safe space with like-minded mums, share experiences, and build a supportive community. Come and be inspired by the stories of resilience, determination, and success from other mums in leadership.

The Speaker: Karen Perkins

Karen is a Life Coach supporting people to have a great work life balance that suits them. She use a holistic practical approach across all aspects of life and work and lovee innovation. Her inspiration came from seeing a lack of career support as a school and University student, and how having great managers, proper training and role models in her early Housing career helped her develop to become a Regional Housing Manager and Strategy and Housing Development Manager in the public and 3rd sector. Throughout this she juggled and enjoyed her 2 children, navigating job share, part time working and then after an ILM Coaching and mangement course in 2010 was inspired to set up her own Coaching business from the kitchen table, alongside her housing role. Happy to share my experiences and tips. The session will look at ideas for navigating work life balance, with all the challenges of kids/ no kids, adoption, caring and anything else you might be facing as a mum in leadership.

Karen hopes to remind us that it is is possible to combine kids and career/business, so join us to find out more.
